Augusta National Golf Club, 13th hole - pencil on paper
After many drawings, it became apparent that there was one course that ought to have representation within the gallery section, and that is obviously the Augusta National Golf Club. The 13th as many observers of the Masters golf tournament will tell you is the ultimate short par 5, filled with the critical eagles, and dubious other scores of 8 and higher. This was taken from a photo reference from the August Journal, the official Masters publication for the tournament. The view is from the edge of the dog leg, with only two of the monstrous four bunkers visible, and Rae's Creek which hugs the left hand side of the fairway, and the right hand side of the heavily sloped table-top green.
This was enjoyable to draw, however the many shadows of the late afternoon sun made for time-consuming shading within the fairway. I will render a few more holes of Augusta in the future, and one is in process in oil right now, the 10th.
The drawing was completed with H, 2B and 6B pencils and measures approximately 9 inches by 6 inches.
