Byodo-In Temple, black and white photography

This was definitely a highlight of my vacation to Hawaii. The grounds were very nearly deserted and the cloud cover gave the temple a very calming quality surrounded by the mountains of the valley. The Byodo-In Temple is on the island of Oahu and is an example of wonderful oriental architecture. Not many visitors were there when I stood in front of the temple so all we see here is the building and its environment. This picture started as a color shot but I manipulated the image a bit to create this black and white effect.
